Bulb Time

It always seem strange to be thinking about spring bulbs in September, but if you want a good display in your garden next year you will need to be buying them now. Shops, garden centres and bulb catalogues have an enticing range for us to choose from but make sure that you don’t dally as the canny gardeners among us will be first in line to get all the best choices as soon as they hit the shelves. Whilst Daffodils, snowdrops, crocus, and tulips are the mainstays, look out for some special gems such as the delicate pale blue and cream Iris ‘Katharine Hodgkin’, the deep plumy purple Fritllaria persica, or the delectable wedgewood blue Muscari ‘Valerie Finnis’
